Planten zijn natuurlijk een hartstikke mooie aanvulling op het interieur of de tuin. Naast mooi zijn ze ook nog eens functioneel. Planten zorgen namelijk voor meer rust, minder stress en sommige soorten zijn zelfs luchtzuiverend. Ze zuiverende de lucht in huis waardoor je je beter kan concentreren en minder snel hoofdpijn krijgt. Helaas is niet elk kamerplantje zo fijn en onschuldig, sommige zijn namelijk hartstikke giftig. Het is bekend dat veel planten giftig zijn voor dieren, maar ook voor mensen zijn er een aantal soorten die erg giftig zijn.
Paternosterboontje
Deze plant heeft misschien wat weg van hulst, maar is allesbehalve vrolijk. Hij heeft namelijk rood/zwarte boontjes die je fataal kunnen worden wanneer je ze opeet. In tropische gebieden worden deze boontjes wel eens gebruikt in sieraden. Gelukkig voor ons is de plant ook alleen maar te vinden in tropische gebieden, dus je zal ze ‘m niet tegen komen in de Nederlandse bossen.
Hortensia
Wie kent deze plant nou niet. Menig Nederlandse tuin of woonkamer fleurt de Hortensia met zijn kleurrijke bloemen op. Wat weinig mensen weten is dat deze plant giftig is voor mens en dier. Er zit namelijk Cyanide in de bloemen, die bij hele grote hoeveelheden voor een fatale afloop kunnen zorgen. Zelf zal je niet zo snel aan deze plant gaan knabbelen, maar let dus goed op eventuele huisdieren.
Gevlekte Scheerling
Het zou zo maar kunnen dat je dit plantje in jouw eigen tuin tegen komt. Hij ziet er erg onschuldig uit, als een soort kruid met kleine witte bloemetjes, maar schijn bedriegt. Het is namelijk een van de giftigste planten van Europa. In de oudheid werd het sap van deze plant zelfs gebruikt bij het uitvoeren van de doodstraf. Als je hem dus ziet staan tussen jouw tuinplanten, dan kun je hem beter gelijk verwijderen.
